Diet LCHF

I recently went to Sweden to visit my family and friends. As always I had a super good and went back to Barcelona with new energy and lungs full of oxygen from the north woods. But now I will not talk about my trip but a new “fashion”.

I have always curious about new trends in my country and this time I discovered a food fashion. All types of diets come and go in society can say that as fashion clothing and many people in their search for evidence to obtain the “desired body.”

English acronyms mean LCHF Low Carb High Fat (low carbohydrate and high fat) and as the name suggests is about reducing the amount of carbs and eat lots of fat. Advocates of this diet recommends foods specifically high in fat (butter, cream (heavy cream) to mount, cocoa butter, cheeses of all kinds but preferably with a high% of fat … etc.) Also of vegetables, fruit, recommends choosing fish that are high in fat (avocado, olives, salmon, eggs, etc…)

The diet is a diet LCHF created for people with diabetes (LCHD) so it is focused on insulin levels in the blood varies greatly by consuming carbohydrates are carbohydrates because they increase the level of blood sugar. A high level of blood sugar in turn increases the production of the hormone insulin which gives the typical energy slump you may notice after eating carbohydrates “fast” (white bread, chocolate, soft drinks etc.).

What surprises me is that they do not distinguish between “good” fats and “bad” for health, but you just have to eat foods with a high level of fat in combination with vegetables.

I have not personally tried this diet but I would stress that all diets require a certain level of knowledge of how food and what you need for example if you make a lot of sport, if you want to lose pounds and so on.

The most important thing is to find a formula I own which is good for you and have a full and varied diet with plenty of vegetables and ensure nutritional needs.

We work with the idea of having a lifestyle and nutrition that works long term. A varied diet, healthy and balanced to create and maintain a healthy body gives you more peace of mind throughout your day by not having to plan, think, shopping and carrying heavy bags home.
