Protect your Eyes While Driving
Drivers are one of the groups most exposed to solar radiation, effective visual health both to road safety. Therefore, in order to sensitize and train drivers, the Royal Automobile Club of Spain (RACE) in conjunction with Alain Afflelou Foundation, launched the second edition of the “Watch your eyes, they also conduct”.
According to one study, 33% of drivers are usually not protected from the sun while driving and 12% never do, despite being Spain one of the countries with the highest ultraviolet radiation of Europe. In addition, 25% of respondents claimed to have suffered a serious risk because of glare, which could have caused outrage pedestrians or cyclists, rear-end collision, off the road and loss of visibility at the exit of a tunnel.

- Protect yourself with sunglasses, sunscreen below Category 4, and preferably use sunglasses with gray lenses, and to respect more natural colors.
- The polarized glasses to avoid reflections of the sun most annoying and prevent eyestrain.
- You should not wear sunglasses at night, except for specialized glasses for night driving.
- If you use contact lenses is advisable to use sunglasses added.
- In the case of glasses with graduation, must also carry prescription sunglasses.
- When driving on motorcycles and mopeds, is to wear sunglasses that are sufficiently enclosures to prevent dust particles or other foreign bodies entering the eye.
- Do not wait to renew your driving license to check your vision, make a review once a year.
